When underwriting
applications for
insurance, the most
important fact taken
into account,
is the health history
of the life insured.

This applicant has
no history of
high blood pressure,
chest pains or
heart complaint;
cancer, growth or
tumour; asthma,
bronchitis or other
lung complaint;
paralysis, stroke or
epilepsy; kidney,
bladder, liver, bowel,
or gall bladder disease;
abnormal passing of blood;
diabetes; hernia, ulcer,
colitis or any
intestinal disorder;
arthritis, tendonitis, RSI
or tenosynovitis;
back or neck pain or
disorder of any joint,
bone, nerve or muscle;
and he has no
physical impairments
or deformities.

His fasting blood tests,
including cholesterol
and triglyceride levels,
were all normal.

His full blood count
was normal.

HIV test
was negative.

Hepatitis B test
was negative.

Hepatitis C test
was negative.

And he presented as a
trim, fit, healthy male.

But;
part of the process
of underwriting
medical history
is to try and predict
the likely mortality
and morbidity
experience, not only
for the immediate future
but also long term.

We are particularly
concerned with the
applicant's recent history
of depression.

Application denied.
